TERRACES AND ROOFS WATERPROOFING

Product description

-          Definition: It is an acrylic elastomer-based in aqueous dispersion that adheres perfectly and form a gummy film of great elasticity and resistance. 

-          Use: Can be applied on the classic building materials, forming a dry film, a continuous layer, free from porosity and impermeable to water. It is particularly suitable for insulation of flat roofs, terraces, roofs and all types of surfaces even if they are to be footstep. 

-          Properties:  It is used for and in the following cases:

1.      – Concrete flat roofs and terraces with tiled floor or have been previously treated with bituminous waterproofing systems.

2.      -  Roof cement: amino-cement plates or terracotta tiles. 

3.      - Sheds, concrete fences and walls, precompressed, etc.; being especially useful when these surfaces have vertical cracks through the action of water infiltration.

4.      - To plug expansion joints and seal tie lines between horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Application Instructions

·         Method

Brush and Roller. Occasionally spray guns can be applied. (Nozzle 2.8 mm)

·         Dilution: Water can be used as diluents.

The first coat with 10 to 20% water, depending on the surfaces porosity. Successive coats at viscosity of supply. One or two coats of REVESALIM TJ, slightly diluted or at use, to a thickness of 200-400 microns. It is advisable to dilute or use, to a thickness of 200-400 microns. We recommend application of successive coats in a cross way for a better treatment outcome. 

·         Cleaning

After use, clean all equipment preferably with water.

·         Working Temperature

It should not be below + 5 º C or above 40 º C. Do not apply on rainy days or very humid. 

Surfaces preparation:

The surfaces of cement, asbestos, terracotta and old bituminous coatings, etc., must be clean of dust, grease, oil, dirt and be dry. By brushing remove peeling and poorly adhering parties, prior to the application.

Areas which have cracks and holes must be repaired previously. For this can be used a paste composed of one part of REVESALIM TJ with two or three parts of fine sand. If the surfaces are very absorbent, it is recommended to give one coat of VITREN or F-25.

Surfaces in good condition, two coats will be enough.

In case of surfaces that present large cracks or fissures is advised to insert between the first two coats of TJ REVESALIM a fiberglass or plastic mesh and then apply a third and fourth coat. 

Hygiene and security

·         Non-flammable product.

·         Because its solvent is water, no toxicity problems whatsoever. It contains no toxic components.

·         In case of eyes contact, wash with plenty of water  

·         If the product splashes eyes, rinse with water several times; always consult your doctor or the National Institute of Toxicology, Phone Number 91 – 562.84.69.

Comments

*        When performance practical calculation take place it is necessary to be considered product losses by surface irregularities and application system.

*        The solvent addiction proportionally modifies the solid content in the paint and therefore the thickness of wet film.
